Film v Print

In my opinion, book and movies offer different types of pleasure. For me, the pleasure in watching movies is that I can do it with many people, and afterwards, we can all discuss about it. Reading books is more of a personal thing that I do in a quiet place. However, if we compare the actual contents and of movies and books, I would usually prefer books. I feel like when reading books, I have more freedom to imagine people and places than when I watch a movie. Oftem times, if I watch a movie after I read a book, I get disappointed because the movie is different from what I expected. This is part of the reason why I would prefer reading books before I watch the movie. This way I get to imagine my own characters ad events before I watch a visual representation of it. If I watch the movie first, I images from the movie would pop into my brain when I read the books, which to me, makes it less interesting. Another reason why I would prefer books is that movie sometimes cut off scenes that the book contains. This takes away some of the small but important parts of the story.
